Back for the 13th year, the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo’s annual Penguin Walk is a visitor favourite!

Starting January 11th, you can see our king penguin colony outside of their habitat as they take a royal promenade through the zoo grounds.

What you need to know

Early Building Closure: ENMAX Conservatory

The ENMAX Conservatory will close at 3 p.m. on Thursday, February 13th, Friday, February 14th, and Saturday, February 15th, to accommodate set up for In the Heat of the Night (18+) event.

Early Zoo Closure: Feb. 26

The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo will close at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 26th, as we host our annual celebration in recognition of employees who have achieved a service milestone.

Outdoor Viewing Closures: Land of Lemurs Walkthrough and Gorilla Amphitheatre

Land of Lemurs Walkthrough & the outdoor Gorilla Amphitheatre are closed for the season. Lemurs and gorillas are viewable in their indoor habitats.

Animal Viewing Impact: African Savannah Yard

Hartmann’s mountain zebras and ostriches are off-view while we complete exciting upgrades in the African Savannah Yard, including the construction of a new Savannah Barn for the animals. Our giraffe tower will continue to be viewable throughout the project. Thank you for your understanding.

 

Public Notice
